Letter of appreciation to our Representatives

I’d like to take this opportunity to commend the officers, yard representatives and stewards for your excellent service.

There’s a difference between interest and commitment. When you’re interested in doing something, you do it only when circumstances permit. When you’re committed to something you except no excuses, only results.

Your commitment and hard work has not gone unnoticed. This year (2017) has been extremely challenging for maintenance, our records reflect the commitment that the DCSMEC family provided to bring the district back to normality.

I would like to congratulate you and extend our sincere gratitude and appreciation for your dedication and enthusiasm. DCSMEC continues to strive in providing the best experience for it’s members and with a crew of your caliber who works from the heart, hence, automatically outshines the rest, it is almost a natural occurrence.

I hope to see all our representatives on Tuesday, December 19, for our end of the year appreciation meeting, you must know that the future is extremely bright for does that work with dedication and passion.

Best Regards,

Rolando Sardiñas

DCSMEC Letter of achievement

Miami-Dade County Public Schools will reopen Monday September 18, 2017 as the Superintendent requested.

I would like to extend my appreciation for the amazing work done by the DCSMEC family. The endless hours worked to be able to achieve the opening of schools and the professionalism that you have portrayed has impressed the entire district immensely and I am honored to represent you.

As I  followed each step of the process I realize it was the most important project thus far for our community and its success was of the utmost importance to get a sense of normalcy back to Miami-Dade County.

Your selfless dedication to leave your family many without power and answer the call of  civic duty and dedication  should be a source of pride to the district and a wake up call of the importance of a strong maintenance force.

I once again want to thank you for your extraordinary effort.

Rolando Sardiñas

Labor day notice

As I’ve traveled around our district I have seen some pretty amazing individual accomplishments that help advance the educational experience for staff and students. When put together, they are a record of achievement few, if any other district can match.

Above all, they reflect the immense talent and leadership that you and your colleagues in the DCSMEC family bring to fruition every day. We are stronger because of your dedication. I am very grateful for your efforts and very proud of your performance.

Once more we have risen to the challenge and accomplished our task of a successful opening of school, students and teachers are safe and comfortably at work molding and shaping future leaders. Thanks to your hard work.

This weekend take some time to enjoy some well deserved rest and relaxation with friends and love ones. Please keep in your prayers our brothers and sisters in the Huston area who have lost so much due to flooding and hurricane disaster.

My sincere best wishes for you and your families on this Labor Day weekend.

Opening of schools notice

To all members,

After working through the heat of a South Florida summer once again we find ourselves in that magical time of the year getting ready for the start of school. Nobody does that better than the DCSMEC family. It seems year after year we have to do more and more with less yet somehow, someway we always come through. This year will be no different especially between now and the start of the school year on Monday; there is much to do with not enough time or personnel to do it. Management has acknowledged a better working relationship with labor than ever before, a good step in the right direction. First time in years we have new hires and safe vehicles, we still have a long road ahead of us, but I feel we are moving in the right direction.

As I’m sure most of you already know you will be working long days through the weekend to accomplish this goal. Everyone from site personnel to upper management will be out in force daily making sure the schools are ready for staff and students, in order to address any issues that may arise. Brothers & Sisters, please be careful and safe, stay properly hydrated and diligent in the task at hand. Most of all let me convey how proud I am of you and to be a part of the best maintenance program in the country.

On behalf of DCSMEC and the 4th largest school district in the nation, thank you for all you do and do so well.
